How to choose the right angle grinder

Disc diameter
115–125 mm discs suit most cutting and grinding tasks on metal and masonry. Larger 180–230 mm models allow deeper cuts and higher removal rates for heavy construction work.
Corded or cordless?
Corded models deliver continuous power at lower weight. Cordless angle grinders — e.g. the Makita 18V and 40V XGT range — give you complete freedom of movement on site, especially without a mains connection.
Power and no-load speed
More watts let you work on denser materials without losing performance. The no-load speed (RPM) determines cutting intensity: up to 11,000 RPM for general work; variable-speed models are safer for polishing and fine work.
Speed control and safety
