Behringer TA5212 Microphone

The Behringer TA5212 is a condenser microphone with a flexible gooseneck intended for vocal and instrument capture in studio and live settings. It offers a wide frequency response and low self-noise to reproduce audio with clarity and detail. The gooseneck design allows precise positioning while the robust construction supports frequent use and straightforward setup.

Advantages

The microphone delivers consistent sound reproduction across a broad frequency range, helping to preserve natural timbre for vocals and acoustic instruments. Low self-noise improves the signal-to-noise ratio, making it suitable where quiet detail is important. The flexible gooseneck provides easy, accurate positioning while the durable build minimizes maintenance and replacement needs.

Suitable for

• Studio vocal recording
• Instrument miking for acoustic guitar, piano and small ensembles
• Live sound reinforcement for spoken word and music
• Podcasting and voice-over work in controlled environments

Key specifications

• Microphone type: condenser
• Form factor: gooseneck
• Frequency response: wide-range for vocal and instrument reproduction
• Self-noise: low, suitable for detailed capture
• Polar pattern: designed for focused pickup of source (cardioid/uni-directional behavior typical of gooseneck condensers)
• Construction: robust housing intended for repeated positioning and transport

How to use

Mount the TA5212 on a compatible stand or podium and position the gooseneck so the capsule is aimed toward the sound source at an appropriate distance for the application. Connect to a compatible microphone preamp or mixer; phantom power may be required for operation. Adjust gain and monitoring levels on your interface or console, and fine-tune the positioning to achieve the desired balance between direct sound and room ambience. For live use, check stage placement to minimize feedback.

Recommendations

Use a pop filter or windscreen for close vocal work to reduce plosives. When recording delicate acoustic sources, place the microphone to capture the preferred tonal characteristics and avoid reflective surfaces that introduce unwanted coloration. Regularly inspect the gooseneck and connectors to ensure reliable mechanical and electrical contact.
