Desview TP170 teleprompter 17-inch, height-adjustable lightweight teleprompter

Desview TP170 is a 17-inch adjustable-height lightweight teleprompter designed for use with cameras and smartphones in studio and field recording. The compact construction and reduced weight make it suitable for easy transport and quick setup on a variety of camera rigs. The teleprompter provides a large, clear display area so presenters can read scripts while maintaining eye contact with the camera.

Advantages

The teleprompter combines a 17-inch display surface with an adjustable-height mechanism that accommodates different camera and lens configurations. Its lightweight design reduces the load on support equipment and simplifies location work. The optical glass and hood reduce reflections and ambient light interference, yielding readable text in mixed lighting conditions. Tool-free adjustments and a straightforward mounting interface speed up assembly and alignment.

Suitable for

• Studio interviews and newsreaders using DSLR, mirrorless, or cinema cameras
• Field reporting and run-and-gun shoots where portability matters
• Live streaming, webinars, and online presentations with smartphone or camera setups
• Corporate videos, training recordings, and e-learning content production

Key specifications

• Diagonal viewing surface: 17 inches
• Adjustable height range to match different camera rigs and shooting positions
• Lightweight construction for transport and quick setup
• Optical glass designed to provide clear text visibility with reduced reflections
• Compatible with cameras and smartphones via standard mounting interface
• Detachable hood to control ambient light and improve contrast

How to use

Mount the teleprompter on a compatible tripod or camera rig using the standard mounting interface, then attach your camera or smartphone behind the beam splitter. Adjust the height to align the display plane with the camera lens and secure the position. Place your text source (tablet, monitor or smartphone) at the rear display position and configure the teleprompter software to mirror the script as needed. Verify focus and framing through the camera viewfinder or monitor before recording.

Recommendations

For best results, use an adjustable tripod and test the height adjustment with your specific camera and lens to ensure the presenter’s eye line meets the camera axis. Reduce ambient light on the glass surface by using the hood and position the script display at a comfortable distance and font size to avoid eye strain. Regularly check mounting points and glass surfaces for dust or smudges that can affect readability.
