Midspan Axis 01944-001 Surveillance Camera Accessory

The AXIS 01944-001 Midspan is a 30 W outdoor Power over Ethernet (PoE) injector designed to supply power and data to compatible Axis network devices and security cameras without replacing existing Ethernet switches or cabling. It supports IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at standards, operates from 100–240 V AC, and is built to withstand outdoor conditions while providing surge protection to connected equipment.

Advantages

The midspan delivers up to 30 W of PoE power, is compatible with IEEE 802.3af/at devices, and simplifies installation by injecting power onto existing network cabling. Its outdoor-rated housing and integrated surge protection for both AC and PoE ports enhance reliability in exposed environments. Compact dimensions (170 × 140 × 60 mm) and a discreet black/grey design facilitate flexible mounting and unobtrusive placement.

How to use

Mount the midspan in a suitable outdoor location following local installation rules. Connect the AC mains input (100–240 V) to the designated AC port. Use standard Ethernet cabling to connect a network switch or data source to the midspan’s data input and connect the PoE output to the Axis network camera or device. Ensure cable connections are secure and that the connected device is IEEE 802.3af/at compatible before powering the system.

Recommendations

Install the midspan in a weather-protected but ventilated location if possible, use shielded or outdoor-rated Ethernet cables for long runs, and verify grounding and surge protection requirements to maximize equipment safety in areas prone to electrical surges.
