3M 42022050 mounting tape

Scotch® Extra Strong Premium Carpet Tape NIU 50 mm x 20 m is a double-sided mounting tape designed for fixing all types of carpets and PVC floor coverings. The tape features a fibre-reinforced carrier and an extra-strong adhesive that provides reliable hold on high-wear surfaces such as stairs and maintains good adhesion in damp rooms like bathrooms and cellars. The roll measures 50 mm wide and 20 m long; the tape is solvent-free, odour-free and can be torn by hand.

Advantages

The fibre-reinforced base increases tear resistance and durability under frequent use. Extra-strong adhesive ensures a secure bond on many subsurfaces, including areas exposed to moisture. The tape is solvent-free and odour-free, and can be applied and torn off by hand for convenient installation.

Suitable for

• Laying carpets on stairs
• Fixing PVC floor coverings
• Securing floor coverings in bathrooms and cellars
• Temporary or permanent carpet fixing on clean, dry subsurfaces

Key specifications

• Brand: Scotch®
• Product: Extra Strong Premium Carpet Tape NIU
• Width: 50 mm
• Length: 20 m
• Type: Double-sided, fibre-reinforced carrier
• Adhesive: Extra-strong, solvent-free, odour-free

How to use

Ensure the subsurface is clean, dry and free of dust, grease or loose particles. Unroll the tape and apply the adhesive side to the floor or the carpet backing, pressing firmly to achieve full contact. For stairs or high-traffic areas, run the tape along the edges and across seams as needed. The tape can be torn by hand to the required length. For best results allow time for the adhesive to settle before subjecting the surface to heavy traffic.

Recommendations

Do not apply on wet or contaminated surfaces. Test a small area if unsure about compatibility with delicate floor coverings. For long-term installations on very porous or uneven substrates, consider additional mechanical fixing.
