Active Speaker dBTechnologies OPERA 12, 800 W

The dBTechnologies OPERA 12 is an active speaker designed for live sound and installations. Equipped with a 12" woofer and internal amplification delivering up to 800W peak power, the speaker combines DSP-based signal processing with a compact, lightweight enclosure for straightforward transport and setup. Built-in inputs and outputs provide flexible connectivity for mixers, instruments, and other audio sources, while the robust construction supports repeated use in event and rental environments.

Advantages

The integrated DSP optimizes frequency response and protects drivers from overload, ensuring consistent sound clarity across venues. The 12" low-frequency driver offers controlled bass reproduction and punch suitable for speech and music. A lightweight cabinet and ergonomic handles simplify carrying and mounting, and versatile connectivity reduces the need for external equipment. The enclosure and hardware are designed for durability during frequent handling and transport.

• Live music performances and bands
• DJ sets and club use
• Corporate events, presentations, and conferences
• Small to medium-sized venues and houses of worship
• Portable PA and rental applications

Key specifications

• Driver configuration: 12" woofer with high-frequency compression driver
• Amplification: Class-D power stage with DSP management
• Power handling: up to 800W peak power
• Frequency response: wideband coverage suitable for voice and music reproduction
• Connectivity: balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs for flexible signal routing
• Cabinet: lightweight, transport-friendly enclosure with ergonomic handles
• Mounting options: pole mount and rigging points for installation

How to use

Place the OPERA 12 on a stable surface or mount it on a speaker pole using the integrated mounting socket. Connect your audio source using the balanced XLR or TRS inputs and adjust input gain and DSP presets according to room size and application. For live sound, position speakers to cover the audience area evenly and use symmetric placement when deploying multiple units. Ensure proper mains connection and observe manufacturer guidance on maximum input levels to prevent clipping and protect the drivers.

Recommendations

For optimal results, start with the factory DSP presets and make small adjustments to EQ and level while listening from the audience position. Keep the speaker away from reflective surfaces that can cause comb filtering, and use dedicated subwoofers for extended low-frequency reinforcement when higher bass output is required.
