ATEN VC080 HDMI EDID Emulator

The ATEN VC080 is an HDMI EDID emulator that captures, stores and emulates the EDID of a connected display to provide consistent EDID data to an HDMI source. It supports maximum video resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 pixels and common resolutions such as 1920 x 1200 and 3840 x 2160, with a bandwidth of 10.2 Gbit/s. Housed in a compact black metal enclosure (79 x 77.6 x 24.5 mm) and weighing approximately 0.23 kg, the VC080 is intended for use with HDMI video ports in professional AV setups.

Advantages

The VC080 ensures reliable and stable EDID communication so source devices can select and maintain optimal video resolutions. Its support for 4K resolutions (up to 4096 x 2160) and 10.2 Gbit/s bandwidth preserves image quality. The compact metal housing provides durability and straightforward integration into AV racks or desktop installations. Included cables and programmer simplify configuration and power connections.

Suitable for

• AV installations where displays and sources require fixed EDID information
• Professional video routing, switchers and matrix systems
• Environments using 4K or mixed-resolution displays
• Testing and configuration of HDMI sources and signals

How to use

Connect the VC080 between the HDMI source and the display, then use the included programmer and configuration cable to read and store the display EDID or select a predefined EDID profile. Provide power using the included USB-to-DC power cord. After programming, the emulator presents the stored EDID to the source so the source negotiates the chosen resolution and timing without relying on the connected display for EDID reporting.

Recommendations

Place the VC080 near the source or in a central AV rack to maintain stable cable runs. Use the RS-232 cable for advanced configuration when integrating with control systems, and verify selected resolution settings on both source and display after programming to ensure compatibility.
