Bahco 2646 M Cable Cutter, Weight 44 g

The BAHCO 2646 M cable cutter is a compact hand tool engineered for precise cutting of electrical and communication cables. At just 44 g, its lightweight construction makes it easy to maneuver in tight spaces and reduces hand fatigue during repetitive tasks. The cutter delivers clean, reliable cuts suitable for professional electrical work and DIY projects where accuracy is required.

Advantages

The tool combines a slim profile with durable cutting edges to provide accurate shearing action on soft and stranded cables. Its low weight improves handling and control, while the ergonomic shape supports comfortable use over extended periods. The precise blade geometry minimizes deformation of cable cores and helps maintain conductor integrity for secure terminations.

Suitable for

• Cutting small-diameter electrical cables and multi-strand wires
• Telecommunication and data cable preparation
• Electrical installation and maintenance tasks in confined spaces
• DIY electronics and hobbyist wiring projects

Key specifications

• Weight: 44 g
• Tool type: manual cable cutter
• Cutting capacity: suitable for small-diameter and stranded cables (soft conductors)
• Construction: compact and slim profile for accessibility in tight areas
• Ergonomics: lightweight design for improved handling and reduced fatigue

How to use

Position the cable between the cutter blades at the desired cutting point, ensuring the conductor is aligned with the cutting edge. Apply steady, even pressure to close the blades until the cable is fully severed. For thicker or multi-layered cables, make incremental cuts or use the cutter in combination with appropriate stripping tools to avoid crushing the conductor. Keep the cutting edges clean and free of debris to preserve cutting performance.

Recommendations

Use this cable cutter for soft and stranded conductors within its intended capacity. Avoid cutting hardened steel, bolts, or materials outside the recommended cable types to prevent blade damage. Store the tool in a dry place and inspect the cutting edges regularly; sharpen or replace the tool if cuts become imprecise.
