CBO SFP8181GU2MK Duplex Fibre Optic Patch Cable Multimode OM5 2 m

Duplex LWL patch cable CBO SFP8181GU2MK Multimode OM5 2 m is a 2-metre duplex fiber jumper from BlueOptics designed for short-range high-speed links in data centers and enterprise networks. The cable uses OM5 graded-index multimode fiber to support enhanced modal bandwidth and simplified wavelength division multiplexing in multimode environments. Duplex LC-style terminations (LC/LC or compatible) provide bi-directional connectivity between SFP transceivers, switches, patch panels and other networking equipment. The 2 m length and flexible jacket make it suitable for rack-to-rack and patch-panel connections where controlled bend and reliable optical performance are required.

Advantages

The OM5 multimode construction offers improved modal bandwidth for multi-wavelength applications and maintains compatibility with OM3/OM4 multimode infrastructures. Duplex connectivity ensures separate transmit and receive channels for stable bi-directional data transfer. The standardized LC-style connectors allow straightforward insertion into SFP and SFP+ transceivers and most LC patch panels, reducing installation time. The 2 m length balances reach and cable management for typical data center layouts while the fiber jumper’s manufacturing quality supports consistent attenuation and return loss characteristics.

Suitable for

• Connecting SFP/SFP+ transceivers to switches and routers in data centers
• Patch panel to switch or transceiver connections in enterprise LANs
• Short-reach multimode optical links in server racks and telecommunications rooms
• Multi-wavelength multimode applications requiring OM5 bandwidth

Key specifications

• Fiber type: OM5 graded-index multimode
• Configuration: Duplex (two fibers)
• Connector type: LC/LC or compatible duplex LC-style connectors
• Length: 2 metres
• Typical applications: Short-reach data center and LAN optical links
• Jacket: flexible multimode fiber jacket suitable for rack installations

How to use

Route the duplex cable between the two devices ensuring the connector boots are oriented to match LC ports. Insert each LC connector firmly into the corresponding transceiver or patch panel port until the latch clicks. Use the duplex clip or connector keying to maintain correct transmit/receive orientation. Avoid tight bends and secure the cable with appropriate cable management to prevent stress at the connector ferrules. When disconnecting, depress the LC latch and pull straight out without twisting to protect the ferrule end faces.

Recommendations

Inspect connector end faces before installation and clean with recommended fiber cleaning tools when necessary. Maintain minimum bend radius as specified for multimode fiber and keep the cable length appropriate for the planned routing to minimise insertion loss. Use OM5 cable for applications that leverage multimode wavelength division techniques and ensure compatibility with existing OM3/OM4 systems.
