Cable Adapter ShiverPeaks BS57041

The ShiverPeaks BS57041 Cable Gender Changer provides a simple, reliable way to convert RCA cable terminations without changing wiring or adding extra cable length. This adapter features 2 x RCA connectors on each end and is designed for audio and A/V setups where a gender change is required. Nickel-plated contacts enhance durability and resist corrosion, helping to maintain consistent signal transfer for analog stereo connections.

Advantages

This cable gender changer offers straightforward wiring continuity between two RCA-terminated cables, avoiding the need to re-terminate or splice. Nickel-plated contacts reduce oxidation and provide a stable mechanical and electrical connection. The compact form factor makes it easy to place behind equipment or inside AV cabinets where space is limited, and the passive design preserves original signal characteristics without requiring power.

Suitable for

• Connecting two RCA audio cables to convert connector gender
• Joining RCA-terminated devices such as amplifiers, receivers, CD players and turntables
• Temporary or permanent fixes in home or professional A/V setups

Key specifications

• Connector type: 2 x RCA to 2 x RCA
• Contact plating: nickel-plated contacts for corrosion resistance
• Function: passive gender changer for analog stereo signals
• Compatibility: standard unbalanced RCA audio connections
• Form factor: compact inline adapter suitable for tight spaces

How to use

Connect one RCA cable into the adapter's input side and the second RCA cable into the output side, ensuring the left (white) and right (red) channels are matched. Confirm both cable ends are fully seated to secure the mechanical connection and optimise signal transfer. No tools or power are required for installation; the adapter is intended for passive inline use and can remain attached during normal operation.

Recommendations

For best results, use the gender changer with high-quality RCA cables and avoid excessive bending or strain at the connector interfaces. If audio noise or signal loss occurs, check channel polarity and seating, and consider replacing worn or damaged cables rather than relying on multiple adapters in series.
