Carrera Toys 30340 speed controller

The Carrera Toys Speed Controller 30340 is a handheld controller designed for precise control of Carrera slot cars. Featuring a black and blue housing and an ergonomic pistol-style grip, this speed controller provides fine throttle modulation for accelerating, braking and negotiating corners on compatible Carrera tracks. A spiral cable connects the unit to the track, allowing freedom of movement while keeping cord length compact when not extended.

Advantages

The controller offers responsive trigger action that translates small finger movements into smooth speed changes. Its ergonomic shape reduces hand fatigue during extended play sessions and the spiral cable minimizes cable clutter while extending when needed. The design supports consistent connection to compatible Carrera layouts for repeatable performance and predictable car behaviour.

Suitable for

• Home slot car racing on compatible Carrera tracks
• Practice sessions to refine throttle control and cornering
• Friendly races and timed lap events

Key specifications

• Form factor: handheld pistol-style speed controller
• Cable type: coiled/spiral cable for flexible reach and compact storage
• Controls: trigger for variable speed modulation
• Compatibility: designed for use with compatible Carrera slot car systems
• Colour: black with blue accents

How to use

Connect the spiral cable plug to the corresponding socket on your Carrera track according to the track manufacturer’s instructions. Hold the controller in one hand using the ergonomic grip and operate the trigger to vary power to the car: partial trigger pull for gradual acceleration and full pull for maximum speed. Release or ease the trigger to reduce speed or enter corners. Ensure the controller plug and track contacts are clean and fully inserted before use to maintain reliable control.

Recommendations

For best results, use the controller with Carrera tracks and cars that are properly maintained and clean. Avoid excessive force on the trigger and cable, and store the controller in a dry place away from extreme temperatures. If the spiral cable shows significant wear or the connection becomes intermittent, replace the cable or controller to preserve consistent performance.
