Cimco 101038 side cutters

The Cimco 101038 diagonal pliers are precision-cutting hand tools designed for clean snips and controlled wire cutting. At 129 mm overall length, these diagonal cutters combine a compact form factor with hardened cutting edges and insulated plastic handles in black and red for secure handling. They are intended for electrical, electronic and general mechanical work where accurate trimming, cutting and removal of wire and small components are required.

Advantages

These diagonal pliers offer a compact design that improves access in confined spaces while maintaining sufficient leverage for effective cutting. The hardened cutting jaws deliver consistent, clean cuts on soft and medium-hard wires, and the ergonomically shaped plastic handles provide a non-slip grip for extended use. Their balanced weight and size make them convenient to carry on a belt or in a compact tool kit.

Suitable for (tasks / use cases)

• Cutting copper and aluminium wires in electrical installations
• Trimming component leads and small pins in electronics assembly and repair
• Removing cable ties and cutting small plastic parts during assembly
• Precision work in automotive and household mechanical repairs

Key specifications

• Overall length: 129 mm
• Tool type: diagonal cutting pliers
• Handle material: plastic (black and red)
• Cutting edge: hardened steel for consistent cutting performance
• Grip style: ergonomically shaped non-slip handles

How to use

Position the cutting edges around the material to be cut, close to the point where a clean cut is required, and squeeze the handles firmly and evenly until the material is severed. For wiring tasks, strip insulation as needed with a dedicated stripper before cutting, and avoid using the pliers on hardened steel or materials beyond their intended hardness range to prevent blade damage. After use, wipe the cutting edges clean and store the pliers in a dry place.

Recommendations

Use the diagonal pliers for soft and medium-hard wires and small plastic parts. Avoid cutting hardened steel, nails or rivets to preserve the cutting edges. Maintain the tool by cleaning and applying light oil to the joint if needed; inspect handles for wear before use to ensure a secure grip.
