Cimco 131322 Spatula

The Cimco 131322 putty knife features a 185 mm steel blade with a 2.5 cm working width and a durable wooden handle designed for general-purpose scraping, spreading and finishing tasks. The rigid steel blade provides the strength needed for scraping glued residues, paint flakes and plaster, while the comfortable wooden handle ensures a secure grip during repeated use. The tool is compact and balanced for controlled pressure and precise edge work.

Advantages

The heat-treated steel blade resists bending under moderate leverage and keeps a straight edge for consistent spreading of filler and compound. The wooden handle absorbs some vibration and provides a traditional tactile feel that many users prefer for one-handed work. The combination of blade length and narrow width allows access to tight joints and corners while maintaining enough surface area for efficient material distribution.

Suitable for

• Applying and smoothing putty, filler and joint compound
• Scraping paint flakes, adhesive residues and loose plaster
• Cleaning and preparing surfaces before painting or sealing
• Detail work in carpentry, drywall repair and renovation

Key specifications

• Blade material: steel
• Blade length: 185 mm
• Blade width: 25 mm
• Handle material: wood
• Tool type: putty / scraper knife

How to use

Hold the putty knife by the wooden handle with a firm grip and apply the blade to the surface at a shallow angle for smoothing or at a steeper angle for scraping. For applying filler, load the blade with material and spread evenly across the repair area, removing excess with a single broad pass. When scraping, push or pull the blade with controlled force to avoid gouging the substrate. Clean the blade after use to prevent hardened residue and store the tool in a dry place to protect the wooden handle.

Recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves and eye protection when scraping or working with chemical fillers. For prolonged wet work or chemical exposure, consider drying the handle after use to maintain wood condition. Replace the tool if the blade becomes significantly bent, chipped or corroded to ensure consistent results and safe operation.
