Citizen MD911SS Printhead for Dot Matrix Printer

The Citizen MD911SS print head for dot matrix printers is a direct replacement component designed to restore or maintain printing performance in compatible Citizen impact printers. Supplied as a single unit, this print head supports consistent character formation and dot patterns required for multi-part forms, receipts, labels and continuous-feed documents. The part is intended for users seeking a reliable repair option to extend the service life of their dot matrix printer and to preserve print quality in high-volume or intermittent printing environments.

Advantages

This replacement print head offers uniform dot placement and stable electrical contact for predictable print density and legible output. It is manufactured to meet the tolerances required by Citizen printers, helping to reduce print defects and minimize downtime associated with failing or worn print heads. As a single-unit replacement, it simplifies maintenance by matching the mechanical and electrical characteristics expected by the printer’s carriage and drive circuitry.

Suitable for

• Repair and refurbishment of compatible Citizen dot matrix printers
• Printing multi-part forms, invoices and continuous-feed documents
• Retail, logistics and industrial environments requiring durable impact printing
• Environments where low-cost, high-reliability printing is required

Key specifications

• Type: Dot matrix impact print head
• Supply: single unit (replacement part)
• Compatibility: Designed for use with compatible Citizen dot matrix printers
• Function: Produces dot-based characters and graphics suitable for multipart and continuous paper
• Form factor: Cartridge-style print head for carriage installation

How to use

Turn off the printer and disconnect power before beginning replacement. Close the printer cover, reconnect power and run a head alignment or test-print routine as specified in the printer manual to verify correct installation and optimal print quality.

Recommendations

Use approved cleaning procedures and avoid touching the print head pins with bare hands to prevent contamination. Replace the print head when print quality degrades despite cleaning, or when servicing intervals recommend replacement. Store spare print heads in a dry, dust-free environment and handle them carefully to avoid mechanical damage.
