Datalogic M3410-010210 Built-in Barcode Reader

The Datalogic M3410-010210 built-in bar code reader is a compact, vertical single-plane imaging scanner designed for point-of-sale, pharmacy and component verification environments. Supporting both 1D and 2D barcodes and equipped with an extra-large reading area, this embedded scanner offers reliable decoding performance in a small footprint. The unit is available in versions with different performance levels to match throughput needs and can be installed into counters, walls or compact self-checkout systems.

Advantages

The M3410-010210 provides strong scanning performance with low power consumption and durable construction. It delivers fast, accurate reading of a wide range of barcode types, supports Digimarc codes, and adds object illumination automatically to improve readability of challenging codes. Its solid-state electronics and ESD protection up to 25 kV increase long-term reliability, and a USB auxiliary port simplifies integration of a customer-facing scanner.

Suitable for

• Retail point-of-sale counters
• Pharmacy and drug verification
• Hands-free component verification on production lines
• Embedded installations in self-checkout and kiosks

Key specifications

• Supported codes: 1D and 2D barcodes (including Digimarc)
• Connectivity: wired (USB and host-powered options available)
• Power consumption: 1.6 W (operating), 0.95 W (standby)
• Protection rating: IP52 (dust and water resistance)
• Weight and dimensions: 600 g; 137 mm (W) × 152 mm (D)
• Image formats: BMP, JPEG
• ESD protection: up to 25 kV

How to use

Install the M3410-010210 into the counter aperture, wall mount or kiosk following the manufacturer’s mechanical and electrical installation instructions. Connect the unit using the supplied wired interface (USB or host connection); the scanner can operate from a standard USB host cable when configured for host power or from an external AC/DC supply if required. Present barcodes to the large vertical reading window or allow automated sweep scanning; the scanner will add near-infrared illumination as an object enters the field of view and provide read confirmation via audible beep, visible LEDs and Datalogic’s Green Spot on the barcode.

Recommendations

For reliable long-term operation, mount the reader in a location that minimizes exposure to direct spray and heavy dust, and follow routine cleaning procedures for the window. Use the USB host-powered mode when external power is impractical, and enable Digimarc decoding only if required by your workflow to reduce processing overhead.
