Dell 470-BBVG Internal RAID Controller Cable — Accessory for Server RAID Connectivity

Dell 470-BBVG is an internal RAID controller cable designed as an accessory for server RAID connectivity. It provides a reliable physical link between a RAID controller and storage devices or a backplane, supporting consistent data transfer within rack or tower server environments. The cable is intended for internal use only and is built to meet server cabling requirements for stable signal transmission and secure connector retention.

Advantages

The cable offers stable electrical connections and a compact form factor suited to dense server layouts. It is engineered for compatibility with standard internal RAID configurations, reducing the risk of intermittent connectivity and supporting sustained data throughput. Its construction minimizes signal degradation and helps maintain RAID array integrity under continuous operation.

Suitable for

• Connecting internal RAID controllers to drive backplanes
• Replacing or upgrading existing internal RAID controller cabling
• Server maintenance and hardware swaps in data centers
• Enterprise and small business servers requiring secure internal connections

Key specifications

• Type: internal RAID controller cable for server use
• Function: data signal and power/pass-through connectivity between controller and drive/backplane
• Form factor: internal cable with server-grade connectors and retention features
• Compatibility: engineered for common server RAID controller and backplane interfaces
• Construction: shielded conductors and secure connector housings to reduce interference
• Intended environment: rack or tower server systems and data center installations

How to use

Install the Dell internal RAID controller cable by powering down the server and following the server manufacturer's service instructions for internal component access. Align each connector with the corresponding controller or backplane port and seat the connectors firmly until the retention mechanism engages. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and interference with fans or other components. After installation, power on the system and verify that the RAID controller detects connected drives and that the array status is normal within the controller management utility.

Recommendations

Use the cable only for internal server applications, replace any cable showing visible damage, and follow ESD precautions when handling. For best results, confirm physical and firmware compatibility between the RAID controller and backplane before installation and test the RAID array after any cabling change.
