DeLOCK 64342 Internal M.2 Adapter Host Interface M.2 Plug Black

The DeLOCK 64342 is an internal M.2 adapter that allows the installation of an M.2 2230 module in a slot designed for M.2 2242 devices by extending the module length. The adapter has a male M.2 host interface and a compact black housing with dimensions of 17 mm × 22 mm × 3 mm. It supports connection of SATA or NVMe M.2 SSDs to the host via the extended module form factor.

Advantages

The adapter provides a simple mechanical solution to use a shorter M.2 2230 module in a 2242 form-factor slot without modifying the module. Its male M.2 host interface ensures compatibility with standard internal M.2 connectors. The compact size and black finish make it suitable for installation in space-constrained systems.

Suitable for

• Extending an M.2 2230 module to fit M.2 2242 slots
• Installing SATA or NVMe M.2 SSDs when a longer module form factor is required
• Internal upgrades in compact PCs, laptops (service-provided), and embedded systems

How to use

Power off the system and disconnect it from any power source. Insert the M.2 2230 module into the adapter so that the module’s connector aligns with the adapter’s M.2 interface, then place the assembled adapter and module into the M.2 2242 slot on the motherboard or device. Secure the assembly according to the host device’s mounting method. Reconnect power and boot the system; the connected SATA or NVMe SSD should be recognized by the host.

Recommendations

The adapter is intended for internal use only. Ensure the host device supports the SSD interface (SATA or NVMe) of the installed module. Handle M.2 modules and the adapter with electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions and avoid forcing connectors to prevent damage.
