DeLOCK 86898 Optical Fibre Coupler

Optical Fiber Coupler DeLOCK 86898 is an LC Duplex to LC Duplex coupling designed for single-mode optical fiber connections. It provides a compact and reliable interface for directly connecting LC Duplex male connectors and can be mounted in fiber distribution boxes, cabinets and patch panels. The coupling includes a flip mechanism for laser radiation protection and a dust cap to keep the ferrule clean.

Advantages

The coupling supports direct LC Duplex to LC Duplex connection for single-mode fiber, features an integrated flip to protect against laser radiation and comes with a dust cover for sleeve protection. Its small dimensions (approx. 12.7 mm × 29.2 mm × 9.3 mm) simplify installation in confined spaces and standard fiber enclosures.

Suitable for

• Connecting LC Duplex single-mode optical fiber connectors
• Installation in fiber connection boxes and wall-mounted cabinets
• Patching in distribution panels and rack-mounted patch panels

Key specifications

• Brand: DELOCK
• Model / MPN: 86898
• EAN: 4043619868988
• Connector type: LC Duplex female to LC Duplex female
• Fiber type: Single-mode
• Laser protection: Integrated flip mechanism

How to use

Insert LC Duplex male connectors from each fiber cable into the corresponding LC Duplex female ports of the coupling until they click into place. Ensure the integrated flip is closed when connecting live single-mode fiber lines to maintain laser radiation protection. When the coupling is not in use or during installation, place the supplied dust cap over the sleeve to prevent contamination.

Recommendations

For safe operation, verify that connected transceivers are powered down or that appropriate laser safety procedures are followed before mating or unmating connectors. Keep the dust cap in place when the coupling is idle and periodically inspect the ferrule for contamination; clean with approved fiber cleaning tools if necessary.
