DeLOCK 86899 Optical Fibre Coupler

The DeLOCK Optical Fiber Coupler 86899 is an LC Duplex coupling designed for connecting optical fiber male connectors directly. It is intended for installation in fiber connection boxes, cabinets and patch panels and is suitable for multi-mode applications. The coupling is finished in beige and supplied as a single unit.

Advantages

The coupling features LC Duplex female interfaces and provides built-in protection against laser radiation via an integrated flip mechanism. A dust cap is included to protect the ceramic sleeve from contamination and to maintain signal integrity. Compact dimensions (12.7 mm × 29.2 mm × 9.3 mm) allow simple mounting in standard fiber enclosures.

How to use

Insert the LC male connector into the LC Duplex female ports of the coupler until it clicks into place. Ensure the integrated flip is closed when the adapter is unused to maintain laser protection. When connecting fibers, align the connectors carefully to avoid damaging the ceramic sleeve. Remove the dust cap before use and replace it after disconnecting to keep the sleeve clean.

Recommendations

Store the coupling in a clean, dry environment. Handle connectors by the housing and avoid touching the ferrule. Always use the dust cap when the coupler is not in use and follow established fiber optic safety procedures to prevent exposure to laser light.
