Dexlan Network Cable 3 m Cat6a S/FTP Black 858739

The Dexlan networking cable 3 m Cat6a S/FTP Black 858739 is a shielded Ethernet patch cable designed to support high-speed data transmission in wired networks. Built to Cat6a specification with S/FTP (overall foil plus individually braided shielding) construction, this 3 meter cable provides improved protection against electromagnetic interference and crosstalk compared with unshielded alternatives. Both ends feature standard RJ-45 connectors and the black jacket offers a neutral, unobtrusive appearance suitable for visible installations in homes and offices.

Advantages

The S/FTP shielding reduces external interference and limits pair-to-pair crosstalk, contributing to consistent signal quality at higher frequencies. The Cat6a design supports higher bandwidth and is suitable for 10 Gigabit Ethernet over typical copper distances. A 3 meter length balances flexibility and low latency for short- to medium-range connections, and the RJ-45 terminations ensure compatibility with common network equipment such as switches, routers and network interface cards. The black outer jacket resists dirt visibility and fits discreetly into most setups.

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 connector to the Ethernet port of your network device and the other connector to the corresponding port on the switch, router or modem. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until the latch clicks to secure the connection. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and prolonged compression, and keep it separated from sources of strong electromagnetic noise where possible to maintain signal integrity. For rack or structured cabling installations, use cable management accessories to prevent strain on terminations.

Recommendations

For best performance, use this Cat6a S/FTP cable for connections up to a few meters indoors, avoid kinking or tight coils, and pair it with shielded network ports or properly grounded equipment when shielding is required. Regularly inspect connectors for damage and replace the cable if shielding or jacket integrity is compromised.
