Disk array Icy Dock MB326SP-B 0 TB rack 1U black

The Icy Dock ExpressCage MB326SP-B is a 1U rackmount storage enclosure that fits up to six 2.5" SATA/SAS HDDs or SSDs (5mm–9.5mm) into a single external 5.25" bay. Designed for high-density storage in compact systems, it supports SATA III 6Gbps and is backward compatible with SATA II/I. The enclosure includes tool-less ExpressTray installation, optional bottom tray screw holes for extra drive stability, dual rear 40mm cooling fans with a fan-speed slider (HIGH/LOW/AUTO), individual drive activity LEDs, and locking latch support for SATA power and data connectors where compatible cables are used.

Advantages

The ExpressCage MB326SP-B combines tray-based stability with tray-less convenience, enabling hot-swap drive replacement and simplified maintenance via the ExpressTray. Active power control keeps the enclosure powered down until a drive is inserted to reduce energy consumption. Dual 40mm fans and extensive ventilation provide effective cooling, and the fan speed slider allows manual or automatic thermal control. The unit is compatible with standard 40mm 3‑pin fans for easy upgrades.

Suitable for (tasks / use cases)

• High-density storage expansion in desktop or rack systems
• Systems requiring hot-swappable 2.5" SATA/SAS HDDs or SSDs
• Home labs, small office servers, and system builder installations
• Applications where compact 5.25" bay utilization is needed
• Environments needing controlled cooling with adjustable fan speed

Key specifications

• Drive bays: 6 x 2.5" (5mm–9.5mm height) SATA/SAS HDD/SSD
• Interface support: SATA III 6Gbps (backward compatible with SATA II/I)
• Form factor: fits into a single external 5.25" bay (1U rack compatible)
• Cooling: dual 40mm rear fans, fan speed slider (HIGH/LOW/AUTO), replaceable with standard 40mm 3‑pin fans
• LEDs: individual drive activity indicators (soft-blue)
• Drive security: optional bottom tray screw holes; locking latch support for SATA connectors (requires compatible cables)
• Power behavior: active power feature keeps enclosure off until a drive is inserted
• Colour and weight: black chassis, 0.438 kg

How to use

Place a 2.5" HDD or SSD onto an ExpressTray and insert the tray into the ExpressCage until it latches. For extra stability, secure the drive with the optional bottom tray screw holes if required by your application. The enclosure powers on automatically when a drive is inserted; drives are hot‑swappable so you can remove and replace them by pulling the rear tab on the tray to unlock and withdraw the drive. Use compatible SATA data and power cables with locking latches to secure connections when needed.

Recommendations

Install the MB326SP-B in a well-ventilated bay and set the fan slider to AUTO for automatic temperature-based cooling. If quieter operation or higher airflow is required, switch to LOW or HIGH respectively, or replace the preinstalled fans with standard 40mm 3‑pin fans. Use locking-latch SATA cables when secure connections are important and consider fastening drives with the bottom tray screws in environments subject to vibration.
