Donner LM-100 Lavalier Microphone

The Donner LM-100 lavalier microphone is a compact omnidirectional microphone designed for clear spoken-word recording. With a 3.5mm analog jack and lightweight construction, the LM-100 is intended for use with cameras, portable recorders, laptops and smartphones that accept a 3.5mm input. The microphone capsule and cable are optimized for close-range voice capture, making it suitable for interviews, presentations, vlogging and instructional videos while maintaining a small, unobtrusive profile.

Advantages

The omnidirectional pickup pattern captures sound from all directions, reducing the need for precise aiming while providing consistent voice reproduction. Its compact size and low weight make the microphone easy to clip to clothing and comfortable for extended wear. The standard 3.5mm connector provides wide compatibility with consumer and semi-professional recording equipment. The wired design ensures stable signal transmission with minimal latency and no battery dependence.

Suitable for

• Interviews and on-the-street reporting
• Presentations and lectures
• Vlogging and video production
• Online meetings, webinars and voice calls

Key specifications

• Microphone type: lavalier (lapel) microphone
• Pickup pattern: omnidirectional
• Connector: 3.5 mm analog jack
• Form factor: clip-on compact capsule with cable
• Weight: lightweight, designed for wearable use

How to use

Attach the lavalier clip to clothing near the speaker's mouth, typically on the lapel, collar or center of the chest, to achieve consistent voice capture. Plug the 3.5mm jack into the microphone input of your camera, recorder or computer. Positioning the capsule 15–30 cm from the mouth generally yields clear results; avoid placing the microphone against fabrics that rub or produce rustling noise. Test audio levels on your recording device and adjust input gain to prevent clipping while maintaining intelligibility.

Recommendations

For best results, use the Donner LM-100 in quiet or moderately noisy environments and monitor recordings with headphones. If your device lacks a dedicated microphone input or uses a combined TRRS socket, verify compatibility or use an appropriate adapter. Store the microphone in a protective pouch to prevent cable tangles and protect the capsule between uses.
