DVI Cable DeLOCK 85896 5 m DVI-D Black

The DeLOCK 85896 DVI cable is a 5 meter DVI-D to DVI-D lead in black, designed for transmission of digital video signals between compatible devices. With a cable diameter of approximately 7.3 mm and two DVI-D connectors, it provides a straightforward wired connection for displays, projectors and graphics sources that support the DVI-D interface. The cable is supplied as a single unit in a polybag and is intended for both home and professional installations where a reliable digital video link is required.

Advantages

This DVI cable delivers a direct digital video connection without analog pins, reducing signal conversion and maintaining image clarity. The 5 m length offers flexibility in device placement while maintaining a tidy routing option for desks or AV racks. The black outer jacket provides a neutral appearance that blends with most IT and AV setups. The cable’s construction with standard DVI-D connectors ensures compatibility with equipment that supports the DVI-D interface.

Suitable for

• Connecting DVI-D equipped monitors to desktop PCs or graphic cards
• Linking projectors to video sources with DVI-D outputs in meeting rooms or classrooms
• Extending the distance between a display and a media player or set-top box using DVI-D
• Replacement or spare cable for AV installations requiring a 5 m DVI-D link

Key specifications

• Cable length: 5 m
• Connector type: DVI-D to DVI-D (digital only)
• Cable diameter: approx. 7.3 mm
• Colour: Black
• Packaging: single unit in polybag

How to use

Inspect both DVI-D connectors and the device ports to ensure they are free of dust and damage. Align the connector with the DVI-D port on the source device and the display, then insert gently and secure any captive screws if present. Power on the source and the display, then configure display settings on the source system (resolution and refresh rate) as needed to match the monitor or projector specifications. If image issues occur, check the connection seating and try a different DVI-D port or device to isolate the problem.

Recommendations

For optimal signal quality, avoid tight bends and heavy mechanical stress on the cable; maintain gentle curves and secure routing to prevent strain on connectors. Use the cable within typical indoor environments and avoid exposure to moisture or extreme temperatures. Where longer runs or additional features (such as dual-link bandwidth or embedded audio) are required, verify that both devices and the cable support those specific capabilities before purchase.
