DynaScan ESK302 - Extension Sensor Kit for

High brightness displays often operate at full backlight intensity regardless of ambient light conditions, leading to excessive energy consumption, premature panel aging, and suboptimal viewing comfort. The DynaScan ESK302 Extension Sensor Kit addresses these challenges by enabling automatic brightness control on compatible DynaScan DS and DW series displays. This plug-and-play kit includes an ambient light sensor unit and a 3-meter connection cable, allowing the display to dynamically adjust its luminance based on surrounding light levels. Whether installed indoors or outdoors, the sensor ensures optimal visibility while reducing power usage and extending the lifespan of the display. The durable black plastic housing is designed for surface mounting, and the sensor is powered directly by the host display, eliminating the need for additional power supplies.

Who is it for

The ESK302 is ideal for system integrators, digital signage network operators, and AV professionals who manage high brightness displays in environments with fluctuating light conditions, such as storefront windows, outdoor kiosks, transportation hubs, and control rooms. It is particularly beneficial for deployments where energy efficiency and display longevity are priorities, and where manual brightness adjustments are impractical.

Tips

For best results, mount the sensor in a location that accurately represents the ambient light conditions of the viewing area, avoiding direct sunlight or shadows that could cause erratic brightness adjustments. Ensure the display firmware is up to date to fully support the automatic brightness feature. The sensor's 3-meter cable allows for flexible positioning, but avoid sharp bends or excessive tension to maintain signal integrity.
