EK Water Blocks Backplate

The EK Water Blocks 3831109832677 Backplate is a nickel-plated retention backplate designed for use with EK-Quantum Vector XC3 RTX 3080/3090 water blocks. Machined from aluminum with a nickel finish and presented in silver colour, the backplate spans the full length of the graphics card PCB. It provides structural reinforcement for the card, improves passive heat dispersion from the back side of components such as the voltage regulation module (VRM), GPU core area and VRAM on compatible models, and adds a uniform aesthetic match to EK cooling components.

Advantages

The backplate offers full-length coverage of the graphics card PCB, combining mechanical support with improved passive cooling on the rear side of the card. Its CNC-machined aluminum construction with nickel plating ensures dimensional accuracy and a corrosion-resistant surface. The silver finish is intended to visually match EK-Quantum Vector series components while contributing to heat spread from critical areas on supported RTX 3080 and 3090 cards.

Suitable for

• Users installing EK-Quantum Vector XC3 RTX 3080/3090 water blocks
• PC builders seeking additional mechanical reinforcement for long graphics cards
• Systems where passive backside cooling of VRM, GPU core and VRAM is desired
• Custom liquid-cooled gaming and workstation rigs using EKWB components

Key specifications

• Type: Backplate
• Material: CNC-machined aluminum with nickel plating
• Colour: Silver (nickel finish)
• Coverage: Full-length graphics card PCB coverage for supported cards
• Compatibility: Designed to fit EK-Quantum Vector XC3 RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 water blocks

How to use

Mount the backplate in accordance with the EK-Quantum Vector XC3 RTX 3080/3090 water block installation instructions. Typically, this involves aligning the backplate with the card PCB and water block mounting points, then securing it with the supplied standoffs and screws to ensure even pressure distribution. Verify alignment with the water block and connectors before fully tightening fasteners. Use the backplate together with the corresponding EK water block and mounting hardware to ensure correct fit and function.

Recommendations

Handle the backplate and graphics card with care during installation. Follow the EKWB installation guide for the EK-Quantum Vector XC3 RTX 3080/3090 series to avoid overtightening screws and to ensure proper contact between components. Periodically inspect mounting hardware for tightness and check for dust accumulation on the card and backplate to maintain cooling performance.
