Ethernet Cradle CIPHERLAB CipherLab Ethernet Cradle for 8000 — Network Docking Accessory

The CipherLab Ethernet Cradle for 8000 is a network docking accessory designed to connect CipherLab 8000 series handheld devices to a wired Ethernet network. It provides a stable wired interface for charging and bidirectional data transfer, allowing handheld units to communicate with back-end systems and centralized device management tools. The cradle is intended to sit on a desktop or in a fixed docking station arrangement and to serve as a reliable network access point for routine data synchronization and device provisioning.

Advantages

The Ethernet cradle delivers stable wired connectivity that reduces wireless interference and supports faster, more consistent data transfers compared with ad-hoc wireless links. By combining charging and Ethernet connectivity in a single dock, it simplifies device management workflows and minimizes manual cable handling. The cradle is compatible with standard network infrastructures and is built for continuous operation in commercial environments such as warehouses and retail points of sale.

Suitable for

• Centralized device provisioning and firmware updates
• High-volume data synchronization in warehouses and distribution centres
• Retail point-of-sale stations requiring reliable networked scanning
• Environments where wireless coverage is limited or subject to interference
• Fixed workstations where handheld devices are regularly charged and synced

Key specifications

• Network interface: wired Ethernet port for RJ45 connection
• Primary functions: simultaneous charging and network data communication
• Compatibility: designed for use with CipherLab 8000 series handheld devices
• Power delivery: integrated cradle charging contacts for device battery charging while docked
• Mounting: desktop or fixed docking placement suitable for commercial environments

How to use

Place the cradle on a stable surface and connect an Ethernet cable from the network switch or router to the cradle's RJ45 port. Connect the cradle's power supply to an appropriate mains outlet if an external adapter is required. Insert a compatible CipherLab 8000 handheld device into the cradle ensuring proper alignment with the charging contacts; the device will charge and establish a network connection automatically according to device settings. Use the organization's device management or synchronization software to perform data transfers, updates, or configuration tasks over the wired connection.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use shielded Ethernet cabling and stable power sources, place the cradle away from sources of heavy dust or liquids, and ensure device firmware and management software are updated to the versions recommended by your IT policy.
