Evolis Primacy 2 Duplex Card Printer 300 x 1200 dpi USB LAN

The Evolis Primacy 2 Duplex 300 x 1200 dpi USB LAN is a professional card printer designed for on-demand issuance of single- and double-sided plastic ID, access and membership cards. With high-resolution printing at 300 x 1200 dpi and built-in USB and LAN connectivity, this printer supports centralized network deployment and local workstation use. Its duplex capability enables automatic double-sided printing to produce finished cards in one pass, reducing handling time and increasing throughput for office, HR, education and event-management environments.

Advantages

The Primacy 2 Duplex delivers high image quality and precise text rendering thanks to its 300 x 1200 dpi print engine, suitable for detailed graphics and small fonts. Integrated USB and Ethernet interfaces allow flexible installation as a standalone desk printer or as part of a networked card-issuance system. Automatic duplexing reduces manual intervention and speeds up production of two-sided cards, while compact industrial design and straightforward driver support simplify deployment in mixed IT environments.

Suitable for

• Issuing employee ID and access control cards
• Membership and loyalty card production
• Student and campus ID programs in educational institutions
• Event badge printing and on-site visitor credentials

Key specifications

How to use

Install the printer on a stable surface, connect it to a workstation via USB or to the local network over Ethernet, and install the manufacturer drivers and card-design software according to the provided instructions. Load blank plastic cards into the input hopper, configure print jobs for single- or double-sided output in the software, and send jobs to the device. The printer will automatically print and, when selected, flip cards for duplex printing, producing fully printed cards ready for lamination or immediate use.

Recommendations

Use good-quality PVC cards and compatible ribbons recommended by the manufacturer to ensure optimal print longevity and color fidelity. For network deployment, assign a static IP or reserve an address via DHCP for easier device management. Regularly clean the printer’s card path and printhead following the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule to maintain consistent print quality and prevent card jams.
