Fibre Optic Cable Helos 2m OM3 LC/LC

The Helos 2m OM3 LC/LC fibre optic cable is a 2‑metre duplex patch cable designed for high‑speed multimode connections. It uses a 50 µm core diameter OM3 fibre and LC connectors on both ends to support short‑reach, high‑bandwidth links commonly found in data centers and enterprise networks. The cable is intended for transmitting data with low attenuation and stable signal integrity over multimode infrastructure.

Advantages

This OM3 LC/LC cable provides consistent multimode performance for 10 Gigabit and higher short‑reach applications. The 50 µm core ensures compatibility with multimode transceivers and active equipment, while LC connectors offer a compact form factor that fits dense patch panels and transceiver ports. The pre‑terminated duplex construction simplifies installation and reduces the need for field termination.

Key specifications

• Fibre type: Multimode OM3
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: LC to LC duplex
• Length: 2 m
• Polish/type: Factory‑terminated, duplex ribbon compatible
• Typical use: Short‑reach high‑bandwidth links (10Gb/s and above)

How to use

Connect each LC connector into the corresponding LC port on network devices or patch panels, ensuring proper polarity for full duplex operation. Route the cable to avoid tight bends; maintain the manufacturerʼs minimum bend radius to prevent increased attenuation. If required, label both ends to match port numbering and verify link integrity using appropriate fibre test equipment after installation.

Recommendations

Store and handle the cable to avoid sharp bends and crushing. Use dust caps on LC connectors when not connected, and clean connector endfaces with recommended fibre cleaning tools before mating to reduce insertion loss and reflectance.
