Fischer 80182 Folding Wall Plug

The Fischer 80182 toggle bolt is a spring-activated anchor designed for secure fastening in materials such as brick, concrete, gypsum block and plasterboard. With a total length of 105 mm and a recommended drill hole diameter of 12 mm, the anchor accepts screws up to 80 mm long and provides a reliable mechanical hold behind the substrate. Supplied in packs of 25 pieces, this toggle bolt is intended for repetitive installation tasks where consistent load-bearing performance is required.

Advantages

The toggle bolt offers a strong, expanding clamping action that distributes load across a wider area behind hollow or solid substrates, reducing point stress on the material. Its spring-loaded wings fold for insertion and open automatically to form a stable bearing surface, which simplifies installation in cavities and prevents pull-through. The standardized dimensions support use with common drill bits and screw lengths, enabling predictable installation depth and load behaviour.

Key specifications

• Anchor type: spring-activated toggle bolt for hollow and solid substrates
• Total length: 105 mm
• Recommended drill hole diameter: 12 mm
• Maximum screw length accommodated: 80 mm
• Pack quantity: 25 pieces
• Suitable substrates: plasterboard, gypsum block, brick, concrete

How to use

Drill a hole with a 12 mm drill bit at the chosen fastening point, taking into account the thickness of the substrate and the screw length required for the fixture. Fold the toggle wings and insert the anchor through the hole until the wings open behind the substrate. Pull back gently to seat the wings flat against the rear surface, then insert the screw and tighten until the fixture is securely clamped. Ensure the screw length provides full engagement of the toggle mechanism without bottoming out in the hole.

Recommendations

Verify substrate condition and thickness before installation; avoid using in crumbling or severely damaged material. For load-critical applications, use appropriate spacing and multiple anchors to distribute forces. When fastening into solid masonry, ensure the wings can open freely; for heavy loads consider alternative dowel types or professional assessment of load capacity.
