Fiskars FS XACT 1070716 Digging Fork with Ergonomic Handle, Lightweight

The Fiskars FS XACT digging fork with ergonomic handle is designed for efficient soil turning, aeration and transplanting in garden beds, allotments and landscaping projects. Its lightweight construction and ergonomic grip reduce user fatigue and improve control when separating roots or loosening compacted soil. The tool is intended for regular use by hobby gardeners and professionals who need a reliable, easy-to-handle fork for routine soil preparation tasks.

Advantages

The ergonomic handle is shaped to provide a comfortable grip that minimizes wrist strain during repeated motions. Lightweight materials reduce the overall tool weight without sacrificing durability, making it easier to maneuver in tight beds and raised planters. The tine arrangement and robust head design allow controlled digging and effective root separation while maintaining penetration into medium-density soils. The construction supports both vertical levering and lateral loosening actions, increasing versatility for multiple garden tasks.

Suitable for

• Turning and aerating garden soil in beds and borders
• Transplanting perennials, shrubs and small plants
• Separating and loosening root-bound plants
• Working in allotments, vegetable patches and landscaped areas

Key specifications

• Tool type: digging fork for soil work
• Handle: ergonomic design to reduce hand and wrist fatigue
• Construction: lightweight for easier handling during extended tasks
• Tines: multiple robust tines for penetration and root separation
• Suitable ground conditions: medium-density soils, loam and cultivated beds

How to use

Insert the tines vertically into the soil near the area to be loosened, then use a levering motion to break up compacted layers and lift soil. For transplanting, work the fork around the root ball to separate roots gently, then lift the plant with minimal damage. Use controlled, steady force rather than sudden jerks to preserve tool integrity and avoid strain. After use, clean off soil and debris from the tines and inspect the handle connection for any wear.

Recommendations

Use the fork in well-maintained soil where possible; avoid striking hard rocks or frozen ground. Wear appropriate gloves to improve grip and protect hands. Store the tool dry and hang or rest it off the ground to prevent moisture-related wear to the handle and metal parts.
