Fixed Barcode Reader Newland FM3051

The Newland FM3051 is a fixed barcode reader designed for reliable 1D and 2D barcode capture, including barcodes displayed on mobile phone screens. With a CMOS sensor, wired USB connectivity and a compact ABS and aluminium housing, the FM3051 suits POS and kiosk integrations where space is limited. The device supports common linear and matrix codes and features low power consumption and easy installation.

Advantages

The FM3051 reads virtually any 1D or 2D barcode quickly, including codes shown on LCD screens, and benefits from IR capability to improve reading under varying ambient light. Its small footprint and durable ABS/aluminium construction allow flush or surface mounting in kiosks and POS systems. Plug-and-play USB connectivity and a barcode programming guide enable fast setup and optional configuration.

How to use

Place or mount the FM3051 in the desired position at a POS terminal or kiosk so its window faces the barcode presentation area. Connect the device to a host using the supplied USB cable and allow the system to recognise the scanner; the unit supports plug-and-play operation. For customised behaviour, follow the included barcode programming guide to enable or disable specific symbologies and change output formats.

Recommendations

Position the scanner to minimise direct reflections from glossy screens and adjust the mounting so phone screens are held at a comfortable angle for users. Use the flush-mount FM3056 variant where a recessed installation is required.
