Frying Pan de Buyer 5614.24

The de Buyer 5614.24 frying pan is made from 100% natural mineral iron (MINERAL B ELEMENT). With a 24 cm diameter and a robust 1.5 kg construction, this metal pan provides even heat distribution and is designed for high-heat cooking techniques such as searing, browning and grilling. The pan features an organic beeswax-based protective finish and contains no synthetic coatings (PFOA- and PTFE-free), offering a durable, recyclable and environmentally friendly cookware option.

Advantages

The iron construction offers anti-oxidation protection and releases iron molecules during cooking, which can contribute to dietary iron intake. The beeswax finish favours seasoning and improves natural nonstick performance over time: the more the pan is used and seasoned, the better its nonstick qualities become. The pan tolerates high temperatures for rapid sealing of food, helping to retain vitamins and nutrients. Production excludes added chemicals and synthetic coatings, making the pan ecological and recyclable.

Suitable for

• Searing and browning meats and fish
• Grilling vegetables and preparing high-heat recipes
• Everyday frying and sautéing where even heat distribution is important

How to use

Before first use, wash the pan with warm water and mild detergent, dry thoroughly, then heat gently and apply a thin layer of cooking oil to begin seasoning. Use the pan on gas, electric or ceramic hobs and heat to the high temperatures suited for searing or grilling. Cook with appropriate utensils (metal or wooden are acceptable for iron) and avoid leaving acidic foods in the pan for long periods to preserve the seasoning. After use, clean with hot water and a soft brush or sponge; reapply a light oil layer if needed and store dry to prevent rust.

Recommendations

Regular use and proper seasoning improve the pan's natural nonstick properties; avoid abrasive cleaners and prolonged storage of wet items. Re-season periodically by applying oil and heating to restore the protective layer.
