Garmin 010-12953-00 Passive Motorcycle Mount

The Garmin 010-12953-00 Mount Motorcycle Passive is a compact, durable mounting accessory designed to hold compatible Garmin navigation devices on motorcycle handlebars or dedicated mounting points. Constructed from robust materials, the passive mount secures the device without powered connections, providing a stable attachment that resists vibration and road shocks while maintaining a low profile that does not obstruct instrument visibility.

Advantages

This passive motorcycle mount provides reliable mechanical retention of a Garmin device using a simple locking interface, which reduces installation complexity and potential electrical interference. Its solid construction ensures long-term wear resistance and consistent holding force in a range of riding conditions. The mount is designed to be lightweight and corrosion-resistant, offering practical stability without adding significant bulk to the motorcycle setup.

How to use

Install the mount by attaching it to the motorcycle’s handlebar clamp or existing mount point using the appropriate hardware and following the vehicle manufacturer’s torque specifications. Position the mount so the device will be easily visible while riding and lock the compatible Garmin unit into the mount’s retention mechanism until it clicks into place. Periodically check the fasteners and the locking interface for wear or loosening, and re-tighten or service as needed to maintain secure attachment.

Recommendations

Confirm device compatibility with the mount before installation. When fitting the mount, ensure the handlebars remain free of obstructions and that the mounted unit does not interfere with safe operation or the rider’s view of instruments. Inspect mounting hardware and the retention mechanism routinely, especially after heavy use or exposure to harsh conditions, and replace components that show significant wear.
