Gender Changer ShiverPeaks BS77401

The ShiverPeaks BS77401 is a DVI-D to HDMI cable gender changer designed to join devices with DVI-D and HDMI interfaces. The adapter features gold-plated contacts to support reliable signal transfer and a black finish that blends with most AV setups. It provides a compact and straightforward solution where a direct DVI-D to HDMI connection is required without replacing existing cables.

Advantages

The gender changer offers corrosion-resistant gold-plated contacts for improved conductivity and reduced signal degradation. Its compact form factor minimizes desk clutter and allows easy insertion into crowded connector arrays. The black housing provides a neutral appearance suitable for home and office environments. No external power or drivers are required, enabling plug-and-play use with compatible devices.

Suitable for

• Converting a DVI-D output to an HDMI input for monitors or TVs
• Connecting graphics cards with DVI-D ports to HDMI displays
• Temporary or permanent AV setups where a DVI-D/HDMI interface match is needed

Key specifications

• Connector A: DVI-D
• Connector B: HDMI
• Contact plating: gold-plated contacts
• Colour: black
• Form factor: passive gender changer (no active conversion)

How to use

Align the DVI-D and HDMI connectors with the corresponding ports and insert the gender changer firmly but gently until it is seated. Ensure connected devices are powered off when making or breaking connections to avoid potential electrical issues. After physical connection, power on the devices; most modern displays and graphics outputs will recognize the link automatically. Note that this passive adapter transmits digital signals only and does not convert between digital and analog formats.

Recommendations

Use this gender changer where both devices support compatible digital signals; verify that the DVI-D source and HDMI sink are set to compatible resolution and refresh rate limits. For long cable runs or high-bandwidth applications, consider using certified cables and, if necessary, active converters to maintain signal integrity.
