Goobay 50147 Network Cable 5m Cat5e SF/UTP

The Goobay 50147 networking cable is a 5 m Cat5e SF/UTP patch cable designed for reliable high-speed data transmission in home and office networks. It features copper-clad aluminium (CCA) conductors, foil shielding combined with unshielded twisted pairs (SF/UTP) and RJ‑45 plugs with gold plating for improved contact and corrosion resistance. The grey PVC jacket provides mechanical protection and a neutral appearance suitable for a variety of installation environments.

Advantages

The cable delivers stable Ethernet connections at Cat5e performance levels, with shielding to reduce electromagnetic interference. Gold‑plated RJ‑45 connectors ensure consistent contact quality, and the 5 m length offers flexibility for typical desktop and patch panel connections. The combination of durable sheath and precision connectors supports dependable everyday use.

Suitable for

• Connecting PCs, routers and switches in home networks
• Patching between wall outlets and network devices in offices
• Short to medium length LAN runs and patch panel connections

Ensure connectors are fully inserted until they click. Route the cable avoiding sharp bends and sources of strong electromagnetic interference for optimal performance.

Recommendations

For best results in environments with high electromagnetic interference or for gigabit links over longer distances, consider using shielded cables with copper conductors (e.g., Cat6a) instead of CCA Cat5e. Regularly inspect connectors and cable jacket for damage and replace if wear is visible.
