Handheld Barcode Reader Datalogic PM9600-AR433RBK10 1D/2D Wireless

The Datalogic PM9600-AR433RBK10 is a rugged handheld barcode reader that supports 1D and 2D codes and is designed for industrial traceability and intralogistics. Rated IP65/IP67 and drop-resistant to 2.5 m, the scanner offers wireless operation with a 150 m range and a long-lasting lithium-ion battery. Exchangeable communication modules and cradle-configurable interfaces (Serial, USB, USB-C, Ethernet, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET) simplify integration with PCs, industrial controllers or tablets. The device family includes standard, high-performance and document-capture models and is available in Auto Range variants for extended reading distances.

Advantages

The PM9600 combines robust mechanical protection and wireless charging to reduce downtime caused by dirty or damaged contacts, while its trigger and housing withstand intensive industrial use. Configurable communication options and exchangeable modules future-proof connectivity and reduce the need for third-party adapters. Models with dual cameras or document capture expand reading range and add color image capture for quality control. Wireless options include Datalogic STAR cordless system (433 MHz) and Bluetooth 5.0, providing bidirectional feedback and flexible pairing.

Suitable for

• Manufacturing and assembly line traceability
• Intralogistics and warehouse picking
• Retail inventory and goods receiving
• Quality control and document capture workflows
• Environments requiring dust/water protection and frequent drops

How to use

Power on the scanner and pair it with the chosen base station or host device according to the selected wireless technology (STAR 433 MHz or Bluetooth 5.0), or connect via the cradle using the required interface. Aim the scanner at the barcode and press the trigger; the device provides a green-spot and audible/visual feedback on the OLED display for successful reads. For document capture models, frame the item in the camera view and capture the color image as needed. When not in use, place the scanner in the cradle to charge wirelessly and to enable automatic communications mode switching if necessary.

Recommendations

Use the Wireless Charging cradle to avoid contact-related charging failures and monitor battery health indicators to schedule preventive maintenance. Choose the standard, high-performance, or document-capture variant based on code density and required reading distance, and select the appropriate communication module in the cradle to match your host system for easy future upgrades.
