HDMI cable ShiverPeaks 5m

The ShiverPeaks HDMI Cable 5m delivers a reliable wired connection for transmitting high-definition video and multichannel audio between HDMI-equipped devices. This black, 5-metre HDMI cable uses standard HDMI Type A connectors on both ends and supports a data transfer rate up to 8.16 Gbit/s. Gold-plated contacts reduce signal degradation and improve connector longevity, while compliance with BS77475 indicates adherence to defined quality and performance criteria for a consistent connection in home and office setups.

Advantages

The cable’s 5 m length provides flexible placement of displays and source devices without compromising signal quality. Gold-plated contacts resist corrosion and maintain stable conductivity over time. The Type A connectors are compatible with most TVs, monitors, projectors and AV receivers, ensuring wide interoperability. A black outer jacket offers a discreet appearance that fits typical home entertainment and professional AV environments.

Suitable for

• Connecting Blu-ray players, set-top boxes or media players to TVs
• Linking desktop PCs and laptops to external monitors or projectors
• Connecting AV receivers or soundbars for HDMI audio passthrough
• Home theatre installations where a 5 m reach is required

How to use

Connect one HDMI Type A end to the HDMI output of your source device (for example a Blu-ray player, game console or PC) and the other end to the HDMI input of your display or AV receiver. Ensure both devices are powered off when connecting to avoid hot-plug issues, then power them on and select the appropriate HDMI input on the display. If needed, configure display resolution and audio output settings on the source device to match the capabilities of the display or receiver.

Recommendations

For best results, avoid sharp cable bends and keep the cable away from strong electromagnetic sources such as large power supplies or unshielded high-current cables. If using long runs through walls or conduits, follow local installation codes and ensure adequate ventilation and strain relief at connection points.
