Helos Cat 6a S/FTP Network Cable 5 m

The Helos Cat 6a S/FTP 5 m networking cable provides a 5 metre connection with S/FTP shielding and RJ-45 connectors on both ends. Designed for Cat 6a applications, this yellow cable supports high-speed data transfer and reduced electromagnetic interference in structured cabling systems. Its visible colour facilitates identification within crowded cable runs and helps maintain organized installations in home and office environments.

Advantages

S/FTP shielding combines an overall foil shield with individually braided shields around each twisted pair to minimise crosstalk and external noise, improving signal integrity at higher data rates. The Cat 6a specification supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet over copper at suitable distances, while the pre-terminated RJ-45 connectors ensure plug-and-play compatibility with standard network ports. The 5 metre length offers flexibility for typical desktop, rack-to-desk, or patch panel connections without excess cable slack.

Suitable for

• 10 Gigabit Ethernet connections within the rated distance for Cat 6a
• Patch panels and switches in small office or home networks
• Desktop and workstation connections to wall ports or network equipment
• Environments where cable identification and visual organisation are important

Key specifications

• Performance class: Cat 6a
• Shielding type: S/FTP (overall foil with individually shielded pairs)
• Length: 5 m
• Connectors: RJ-45 to RJ-45
• Colour: Yellow
• Cable type: Twisted pair, shielded

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 plug to the network port of a switch, router, or wall outlet and the other plug to the target device such as a PC, server or networked peripheral. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until the latch clicks to secure the connection. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends, tight kinks and sources of strong electromagnetic interference. For installations through conduits or cable trays, verify the bend radius recommended for shielded twisted pair cables is observed to maintain performance.

Recommendations

Use this Cat 6a S/FTP cable for short to medium runs where improved noise immunity and predictable 10 Gbps performance are required. For permanent in-wall installations or runs longer than standard patch lengths, consult cabling standards and consider appropriate in-wall or plenum-rated alternatives. Periodically inspect connectors for damage and replace the cable if the shielding or plug integrity is compromised.
