HP Drive-WTB X7600

The HP Drive-Wtb X7600 stands apart from ordinary NAS boxes by pairing enterprise-grade hardware with Windows Storage Server 2012 R2, delivering a unified file and block storage platform that scales from a single 2U appliance to multi-node clusters. With dual redundant 750W power supplies, hot-plug drive bays, and hardware RAID, it is built for always-on environments where downtime is not an option.

Highlights

• Intel Xeon E5-2407 v2 quad-core processor at 2.4 GHz for responsive data services
• 16 GB DDR3 ECC memory (expandable) to handle concurrent workloads
• 12 LFF hot-plug bays with 6 x 4TB SAS 7.2K drives included, offering 24 TB raw capacity
• Hardware RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 for flexible data protection
• 4 x 1GbE RJ-45 ports plus 2 PCIe 3.0 x16 and 1 PCIe 3.0 x8 slots for expansion
• Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 Standard with SMB/CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, FTP, HTTP/HTTPS, and WebDAV
• HP iLO4 remote management for out-of-band control

In daily use

Deploy the X7600 as a central file server for Windows and Linux clients, or as an iSCSI target for virtualized environments. Snapshots, replication, and data deduplication reduce storage footprints and improve recovery point objectives. Active Directory integration and ACLs enforce granular permissions, while file screening prevents unwanted content. The 2U rackmount form factor fits standard 19-inch racks, and hot-plug drives and power supplies simplify maintenance without shutting down the system.
