InLine Cat5e S-FTP Crossover Network Cable 7 m RJ-45 Grey

InLine Cat5e S-FTP crossover network cable, 7 m, with moulded RJ‑45 plugs at both ends. The cable uses shielded foiled twisted pair with an additional braid (S-FTP) and AWG 26/7 conductors to reduce electromagnetic interference. It is designed for direct device-to-device connections where a crossover wiring is required and is gigabit-compatible for Cat5e Ethernet networks.

Advantages

The shielded S-FTP construction (foil plus braid) improves protection against crosstalk and external interference compared with unshielded cables. Moulded RJ‑45 connectors ensure a secure fit and the 7 m length provides flexibility for office or home setups. The crossover pin assignment is pre-wired to allow direct connection between two computers or between hubs/switches without requiring an intermediary device.

Suitable for

When it may not be suitable

This crossover cable is not suitable where a straight-through cable is required (for typical device-to-switch connections without crossover wiring). It may be unnecessary for environments that do not require shielding or where longer runs beyond 7 m are needed.

How to use

Plug each RJ‑45 male connector into the network ports of the two devices you wish to connect directly (for example, two PCs or two switches). Ensure the devices are powered on and configured for the intended network roles; most modern Ethernet ports will auto-negotiate speed and duplex. Use this crossover cable specifically when a direct crossover wiring is required by the connected equipment.

What to consider before purchase

Recommendations

For reliable performance, avoid sharp bends and heavy pulling; keep the cable away from high-power electrical cables to minimize interference. If connecting devices longer than 7 m or requiring different pin wiring, select an appropriate straight or longer cable instead.
