The InLine 55703 Notebook Security Lock with key is a compact security cable lock designed to secure laptops and other portable devices. It features a zinc steel lock body and a 2 m long, 4.4 mm diameter steel cable with a nickel-plated finish that resists wear and provides a professional look. The package includes a key for locking and unlocking.

Advantages

The security lock combines a robust zinc steel construction and a thick 4.4 mm cable to offer reliable physical protection against opportunistic theft. The 2 m cable length allows flexible attachment points, while the nickel-plated surface enhances corrosion resistance and appearance. The keyed lock mechanism provides a simple and familiar operation.

How to use

Loop the cable around a fixed anchor point (for example a heavy desk leg or a secure fixture) and insert the locking end into the notebook’s security slot or the appropriate anchor point on the device. Insert the supplied key into the lock cylinder and turn to secure the cable. To remove, insert the key and turn in the opposite direction to release the lock, then detach the cable from the anchor point.

Recommendations

Use the lock as a theft deterrent and an additional physical security measure; it does not make devices tamper-proof. Choose a fixed anchor point that cannot be easily removed, and retain spare keys in a secure location. Inspect the cable and lock periodically for wear or damage and replace the lock if any structural compromise is found.
