InLine Printer Cable Bidirectional 25-pin D-Sub to 36-pin Centronics 2 m

This InLine printer cable Bi-Directional 25 Pin D-Sub to 36 Pin Centronics 2m provides a two-way parallel connection between a DB25 port and a 36-pin Centronics printer interface. The 2 meter length allows flexible placement of printers and peripherals while the beige jacket blends with typical office and home equipment. The cable supports standard parallel printer communication and is designed for reliable signal transmission and physical durability in common desktop and small office environments.

Advantages

The bi-directional design enables handshaking and status signals to pass between host and printer, allowing full parallel communication both to and from the device. The DB25 and 36-pin Centronics connectors are compatible with legacy parallel ports found on many printers and computers, reducing the need for adapters. With a 2 m length and a neutral beige colour, the cable balances reach and cable management while the molded connector housings and strain reliefs improve handling and reduce wear at connection points.

Suitable for

• Connecting a computer or parallel port controller with a DB25 interface to a printer with a 36-pin Centronics port
• Office and small business printing setups requiring legacy parallel connectivity
• Home use with older printers or multifunction devices that use Centronics parallel interfaces
• Temporary or permanent installations where a 2 m cable length is appropriate

Key specifications

• Connector A: 25-pin D-Sub (DB25), male
• Connector B: 36-pin Centronics, male
• Cable length: 2 metres
• Cable type: Bi-directional parallel printer cable
• Colour: Beige
• Typical use: Parallel printer data and control signal transmission

How to use

Align the DB25 connector with the corresponding parallel port on the host device and secure it using the connector screws. Insert the 36-pin Centronics connector into the printer’s parallel socket until it locks or seats firmly. Ensure both devices are powered off when connecting to avoid electrical issues, then power them on and configure the host operating system to use the parallel port if required. For most operating systems the printer will be recognised through the standard parallel interface drivers; consult device documentation for specific driver or port configuration steps.

Recommendations

Avoid bending the cable sharply near the connector ends and keep it away from high-interference power cables to maintain signal integrity. Inspect connector pins periodically for damage or contamination and replace the cable if physical wear or connection issues occur.
