Inter-Tech 88884070 Storage Drive Docking Station

The Inter-Tech 88884070 Storage Drive Docking Station accepts a single 2.5" or 3.5" HDD/SSD and connects to a host via a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-B interface, supporting data transfer rates up to 5 Gbit/s. Housed in a black aluminium enclosure with an antislip stand, the docking station is compatible with common Windows and Mac operating systems and is intended for straightforward expansion, backup and temporary access to internal drives.

Advantages

This docking station provides a simple tool to read and write 2.5" and 3.5" SATA drives without installing them in a PC. The aluminium housing offers durable protection and improved heat dissipation while the USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) interface delivers fast data transfer. Its compact single-bay design and antislip stand make it convenient for desktop use and quick drive swapping.

Suitable for

• Cloning or migrating data between 2.5" and 3.5" HDD/SSD drives
• Accessing data from an internal drive externally for recovery or backup
• Temporary connection of an extra drive for additional storage or testing

How to use

Insert a compatible 2.5" or 3.5" SATA drive into the docking bay, connect the docking station to your computer using the supplied USB Type-B to Type-A cable (or appropriate cable), and power the unit if an external power adapter is required. The operating system should detect the drive as an external storage device; use your file manager or disk utilities to access, copy or format data as needed. For drive removal, unmount or eject the drive from the OS before physically removing it.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, place the docking station on a stable, flat surface and allow airflow around the aluminium case. Always safely eject the drive in the operating system before removal. Use with compatible SATA drives and a USB 3.0/3.2 port for optimal transfer speeds.
