Knipex 03 01 160 Lineman's Pliers

The Knipex 03 01 160 Lineman's pliers are forged from special tool steel and oil-hardened for durability. At 160 mm length and weighing 187 g, they combine gripping zones for flat and round material with long, induction-hardened cutting edges (approx. 60 HRC) suitable for both soft and hard wire. The pliers include a plastic handle designed for a comfortable working grip and provide reliable leverage for gripping, twisting and cutting tasks.

Advantages

Forged special tool steel with oil hardening ensures long service life and resistance to wear. Gripping zones are shaped to hold flat and round material securely, while long cutting edges cut thicker cables. Cutting edges are induction hardened to approximately 60 HRC, improving edge retention and performance on soft and hard wire. The 160 mm size offers a balance of control and leverage for varied tasks.

Suitable for

• Gripping and bending flat or round conductors
• Cutting soft and hard electrical wire
• Working on thicker cables where longer cutting edges are needed
• General electrical installation and lineman tasks

Key specifications

• Brand: Knipex
• Model / MPN: 03 01 160
• EAN: 4003773022787
• Length: 160 mm
• Weight: 187 g

How to use

Position the gripping zones on the material to hold flat or round conductors securely. Use the jaw leverage to bend or twist wires as required. Place the conductor into the cutting edge near the pivot for strongest cut, or along the long cutting edge for thicker cables. Use controlled hand force and keep fingers away from the cutting path. Clean and lightly oil the joint after use to maintain smooth operation.

Recommendations

Use these pliers for electrical installation and lineman work exposing them to intended mechanical loads only; avoid cutting hardened steel or materials beyond the specified capacity to prevent damage to the cutting edges. Store in a dry place and maintain the oil-hardened steel with occasional lubrication of the joint.
