Lindy 10m Active USB 3.0 Cable

The Lindy USB 3.0 Active Cable extends a USB 3.0 connection by an additional 10 m using built-in active electronics while maintaining data transfer speeds up to 5 Gbps. Fitted with a USB A male and a USB B male connector, it enables direct connection of Type B devices such as printers at greater distances and allows more flexible device placement. The cable is compatible with computers that have USB Type A ports and supports plug-and-play installation.

Advantages

The active design preserves USB 3.0 data rates over the extended length and avoids signal degradation common with passive cables. USB A to USB B connectors make it suitable for printers and similar peripherals. Plug-and-play operation requires no driver installation, and compatibility with USB 3.0/3.1/3.2 ensures interoperability with a wide range of hosts and devices.

Key specifications

• Standard: USB 3.0 (backward compatible with USB 2.0/1.1)
• Maximum data rate: 5 Gbps
• Length extension: 10 m (active)
• Connectors: USB A male to USB B male
• Compatibility: USB Type A equipped computers and devices with Type B ports
• Installation: Plug and play

How to use

Connect the USB A male plug to the host computer's USB Type A port and the USB B male plug to the peripheral device. Ensure the peripheral is powered if it is a high-power device; the extender is recommended primarily for low-power or self-powered USB peripherals. After connection, the device should be recognized automatically without additional drivers.

Recommendations

Use this active extension with low-power or self-powered USB peripherals (for example printers, scanners or external drives with their own power supply). Avoid using the cable with high-power devices that draw significant current from the host unless those devices have an independent power source.
