Longshine LCS-GS9126 Unmanaged Switch

The Longshine LCS-GS9126 is an unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch with 24 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ-45 ports and 2 SFP (mini-GBIC) slots. It offers a compact 1U rack-mountable design and a MAC address table suitable for typical small-to-medium network environments. The switch supports IEEE standards including 802.3ab, 802.3az, 802.3u and 802.3x, enabling reliable wired connectivity and optional fiber links for longer-distance connections.

Advantages

The LCS-GS9126 delivers full Gigabit speed on its 24 copper ports and provides two mini GBIC SFP ports for fiber uplinks, allowing cost-effective expansion and long-distance interconnection. Energy Efficient Ethernet (IEEE 802.3az) is available and can be toggled with a front-panel push button. Auto MDI/MDI-X and flow control (802.3x and backpressure) simplify installation and help maintain correct data transmission across full and half duplex modes. Front-panel LEDs give clear status indication for individual ports and the overall system.

Suitable for

• Small and medium business access layer switching
• Network edge aggregation with fiber uplinks
• Departmental LANs requiring multiple Gigabit ports

How to use

Mount the switch in a standard 19-inch rack or place it on a stable surface. Connect devices to the RJ-45 ports using Cat5e or Cat6 cables to achieve gigabit speeds where supported. Insert compatible SFP modules into the mini-GBIC slots and connect fiber optic cables for uplink or long-distance links. Use the front-panel button to enable or disable IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet as needed. The device automatically detects MDI/MDI-X crossover and applies flow control to maintain proper data transmission; no configuration is required for basic operation.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use quality Cat5e/Cat6 cables for copper connections and manufacturer-recommended SFP modules for fiber links. Place the switch in a ventilated rack space, monitor the front-panel LEDs for link and activity status, and disable Energy Efficient Ethernet only if specific devices in your network require continuous full power for proper operation.
