How to use

Install the switch in a standard 19-inch rack using the provided mounting brackets. Connect access devices to the 24 RJ-45 Gigabit ports and uplink aggregation to the 10GbE ports. Configure stacking links if multiple OmniSwitch 6560 units will be used together. Use the Alcatel-Lucent Operating System (AOS) management interfaces (CLI, web GUI or network management platform) to apply VLANs, L2/L3 routing, QoS and security policies according to your network design.

Recommendations

Place the switch in a well-ventilated rack space and ensure firmware is updated to the latest AOS release. For multi-gig wireless deployments, verify connected APs support IEEE 802.3bz and plan uplink and stacking bandwidth to match traffic requirements.
