Microconnect SFTP702 Network Cable Grey 2 m Cat7 S/FTP (S-STP)

The Microconnect SFTP702 RJ-45 Cat7 2 m Grey networking cable is a 2-metre S/FTP (S-STP) Cat7 patch cable designed for high-speed, shielded network connections between devices such as switches, modems and routers, or to infrastructure points like patch panels and wall outlets. It uses RJ-45 connectors on both ends, is backwards compatible with Cat6a/Cat6/Cat5e/Cat5, and is built with shielding and a snagless connector design to protect the plug during installation and reduce electromagnetic interference.

Advantages

This Cat7 cable is tested to the Cat7 standard and supports performance up to 600 MHz while using Cat6a-compatible RJ-45 connectors that meet the minimum 500 MHz standard. The S/FTP shielding (overall braid plus individually shielded pairs) decreases EMI and crosstalk, improving signal integrity and reducing transmission errors. The snagless boot protects the connector tab during routing through tight spaces, and the 2 m length provides convenient reach for typical home and small-office setups.

Suitable for

• Connecting switches, routers or modems to patch panels or wall jacks
• Home networks and small office LANs
• High-speed Ethernet applications requiring shielded cabling
• Audio/video and entertainment systems needing low-interference links

Key specifications

• Standard: Cat7 (tested up to 600 MHz)
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall braid + individually shielded pairs)
• Length: 2 m
• Connectors: RJ-45 to RJ-45
• Colour: Grey
• Compatibility: Backwards compatible with Cat6a, Cat6, Cat5e, Cat5
• Weight: 0.03 kg

How to use

Plug one RJ-45 connector into the network device (switch, router or modem) and the other into the target port on a patch panel, keystone jack or wall outlet. Ensure connectors are fully seated until the latch clicks. Route the cable without sharp bends and avoid running parallel to sources of strong electromagnetic interference. For wall or panel installations, use the snagless boot to protect the connector tab when pulling the cable through tight openings.

Recommendations

Use this S/FTP Cat7 cable in environments where reduced EMI and higher-frequency performance are needed. For best results, maintain bend radii greater than the cable diameter and avoid tight cable bundles with power cables. While compatible with Cat6a and lower standards, use matching shielded ports and properly terminated shielded panels or jacks to preserve the cable's shielding benefits.
