Neomounts PCI2S650 PCI card 2x serial interface

In industrial automation and legacy system integration, connecting multiple RS-232 devices to a modern PC often requires additional serial ports. The Neomounts PCI2S650 PCI card adds two high-speed RS-232 serial ports via a standard PCI slot, enabling reliable communication with barcode scanners, CNC machines, POS terminals, and other serial peripherals. Its 16C950-compatible UART with 128-byte FIFO buffers ensures smooth data flow even under heavy loads, while the 15KV ESD protection safeguards your system from electrical surges.

Key specifications

• Interface: PCI 32-bit, compliant with PCI Local Bus Specification 2.1/2.2/2.3
• Two RS-232 serial ports with DB9 male connectors
• UART chipset: 16C950 compatible with 128-byte FIFO per port
• Data transfer rate up to 921.6 Kbps per port
• Supports 5, 6, 7, 8 data bits; 1, 1.5, 2 stop bits; Even, Odd, None, Mark, Space parity
• Hardware (RTS/CTS) and software (XON/XOFF) flow control
• ESD protection: 15KV
• Standard profile bracket, supports 3.3V and 5V PCI slots
• Operating systems: Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10/11, Linux Kernel

Why choose it

This card offers a cost-effective way to expand serial connectivity without replacing existing equipment. The high-speed UART and large FIFO buffers reduce CPU overhead and prevent data loss in demanding applications. Its broad OS support and compliance with multiple PCI specifications ensure compatibility with a wide range of systems, from legacy industrial PCs to modern workstations.

Ideal use cases

• Industrial automation: connecting PLCs, sensors, and control systems
• Retail and hospitality: interfacing with POS terminals, receipt printers, and cash drawers
• Laboratory and medical: linking analytical instruments and diagnostic devices
• Legacy system upgrades: adding serial ports to computers without built-in RS-232

Good to know

The card is plug-and-play compatible with supported operating systems, and the standard profile bracket fits most desktop chassis. For systems with low-profile slots, a separate low-profile bracket may be required (not included). The 15KV ESD protection helps prevent damage from static discharge, enhancing reliability in harsh environments.
