Network cable ShiverPeaks 08-64040 CAT6 S/FTP PIMF, solid/flexible network patch cable

ShiverPeaks 08-64040 CAT6 S/FTP PIMF network patch cable is designed for reliable gigabit Ethernet connections in structured cabling environments. The cable combines individually foil‑shielded twisted pairs with an overall braided shield to limit crosstalk and electromagnetic interference, providing stable data transmission for office networks, server rooms and home installations. The product supports both solid and stranded conductor terminations and is suitable for typical RJ45 patching and linking tasks.

Advantages

The S/FTP PIMF construction offers enhanced protection against alien crosstalk and external electromagnetic noise compared with unshielded or only foil‑shielded cables. Support for both solid and stranded conductors ensures compatibility with wall outlets, patch panels and network devices. Robust shielding and consistent pair geometry maintain signal integrity for high data rates and reduce packet loss in congested cabling environments.

Suitable for

• Gigabit Ethernet patching between switches, routers and endpoints
• Structured cabling in offices and server rooms
• Linking network devices in multi‑device desktop setups
• Residential network installations requiring improved EMI protection

Key specifications

• Category: CAT6
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall braid + pair foils)
• Conductor type: suitable for solid and stranded terminations
• Performance: designed for gigabit Ethernet and typical CAT6 frequency range
• Connector compatibility: RJ45 patching and panel connections

How to use

Terminate and connect the cable using standard RJ45 connectors or pre‑made plugs appropriate for CAT6 performance. When installing in structured cabling, follow standard bending radius and strain relief practices to preserve shielding and pair geometry. For patching, route the cable between patch panels, switches and end devices, ensuring connectors are fully inserted and latched to maintain reliable contact.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, avoid tight bends and excessive pulling during installation, and keep the cable separated from strong sources of electromagnetic interference such as large motors or fluorescent ballasts. Use shielded connectors and proper grounding where system design requires end‑to‑end shielding continuity.
